Bolzano, a northern Italy city, is also the capital of the Province of Bolzano.  The Province of Bolzano is in the in Trentino-Alto Adige Region.  The city itself is located at the confluence of the Isarco and Talvera rivers.  The city, near a beautiful Dolomite Alps resort area, is home to a Romanesque-Gothic cathedral.  The cathedral dates from the period between the 13th and 15th centuries.  The city also has a Dominican church, built in the 14th century.  The city, which has many German speaking inhabitants, was annexed by Italy after World War I from the Habsburg Dynasty.

Manufacturing Products:

The city, an industrial center, is largely known as a manufacturing center for electronic equipment, foodstuffs, pianos, steel, and textiles.

Population:

100,380 (1990 estimate).
